Drew Brees is making an attempt to ween himself off a pre-snap ritual he has been undertaking for years: licking his fingers.

Cleanliness is likely to be a big variable in the NFL when the time commences, and Brees appreciates that. He instructed ESPN in a tale revealed Wednesday that licking his fingers has been a component of his schedule just before snapping the soccer, so he is instruction how not to do that.

“The entire stage is to support give your hands a minimal tackiness so you get greater grip on the ball,” the New Orleans Saints quarterback stated. “I’ve actually been thinking about it a good deal lately as I have started out throwing once more. Attempting to avoid it, but it has been so habitual for so prolonged. You don’t realize how much you contact your deal with and lick your fingers till COVID hit.”

The NFL hasn’t introduced distinct rules from spitting or hand-licking still. The NBA and MLB have now prohibited these things going into their pandemic-shortened seasons.
