At least 20 New York College students have been suspended for violating coronavirus regulations, in accordance to reports.

The university announced the move in a Twitter article on Saturday but did not offer any aspects on the suspensions. The write-up did recommend: “Remember to you should not be the upcoming.”

“Prevent parties and bars,” the university included. “Use a mask. Preserve your distance.”

The college acknowledged reviews and videos that claimed to show hundreds of young people accumulating in Washington Square Park on Saturday night, which is near the NYU campus. The school stated some of them were not sporting masks or social distancing.

“We are investigating the circumstances from last night and any college students who have violated our anticipations will be topic to disciplinary action.” the college wrote on Sunday.

NYU stated, “a one, crowded, careless celebration could produce circumstances that set NYU and the larger group at threat.”


Sanctions taken against students could include their suspension from the college.

On-campus testing will start out at NYU the week of Sept. 7 and will focus on the college students who stay in residence halls, according to NBC New York. Testing will increase to campus-extensive the subsequent 7 days.
