A British isles governing administration science adviser warned Sunday that ongoing lockdowns just “defer the problem” — and warned that a third wave of the coronavirus upcoming year is “entirely attainable.”

Mark Woolhouse, who sits on Britain’s Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Modelling (SPI-M), dismissed the UK’s latest lockdown as striving to “stick this out for a further six months” in the obscure hope a vaccine will turn into widely out there.

“I have to say that most folks I have talked to who are concerned in vaccine advancement assume that we may perhaps have a vaccine in 6 months, but it is doubtful that we will have been able to roll it out on a mass scale by that time,” he said on the BBC’s Andrew Marr display.

“This is just an additional demo that lockdown doesn’t resolve the trouble, it defers it,” he claimed.

“That is why we need to have some kind of cavalry on the horizon or, alternatively, if we assume that vaccine is not going to be available in six months, or 12 months or two a long time or whenever it might be, that we do require possibilities.”
