A Staten Island bar that has declared alone a COVID-19 restriction “autonomous zone” was again open up for two hours on Friday evening, in ongoing defiance of its suspended liquor license and regardless of a person of its owners’ arrest just 3 days prior.

Dozens of clients crammed into Mac’s Public Property prior to it shut back down for the evening at 10 p.m., flouting state limits against serving customers indoors.

“We tried to sit down and be diplomatic with metropolis and point out officials we had a meeting with the sheriff these days,” co-operator Danny Presti told freelance reporter Oliya Scootercaster as bargoers shuffled in and out.

“It did not go well. They’re just demonstrating they are not prepared to get the job done with us,” said Presti, who was arrested Tuesday.

“We have to get our livelihoods again. And we’ll see where by that goes. We have not been equipped to shell out the utilities,” he additional. “Just everything’s piling up. We’re just scraping by.”
